 The Caduceus Club is an organization established "for the improvement of the general health and welfare of people through contributions made for the advancement of medical education, research, and service carried out by the University of Alabama School of Medicine." Almost three decades ago, a group of alumni of the medical school met to organize a club which could be a "service organization" to promote the medical school through the sponorship of certain projects. |

 Students benefit from numerous projects sponsored by The Caduceus Club including the Student Travel Fellowship Program, annual monetary awards to the best science professor and the best clinical professor as chosen by the sophomore and senior classes of the School of Medicine and many others. Under the Student Travel Fellowship Program, over $300,000 has been provided over the past 27 years. |

 Anyone, medical or non-medical, can become a Member of the Caduceus Club by contributing $200.00 per year to the Club. These funds are then used to sponsor various activities of the University of Alabama School of Medicine for which there are limited or no funds available. The Caduceus Club is always striving to expand its membership and provide added support to the medical school through increased grants to students and support for projects. |
